China-led economic bloc proposal tops agenda on first day of ASEAN Summit

Topping the agenda at the ASEAN 2019 Summit, is the China-led Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership or R-CEP. The trade pact includes all 10 economies of ASEAN as well as Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand. The push to reach an agreement comes in the backdrop of US-China trade tensions.
